Who We Are
Prayer Flag Voyages is a Himalayan boutique studio established in 2016, with a planning desk in Thimphu and a support desk in Kathmandu. We arrange Bhutan tours, treks, festival visits, and Nepal plus Bhutan combinations for small groups and independent travelers. Our team stays deliberately small so every itinerary passes through a senior planner, not a sales queue.
Three planners lead the work. Tashi Dema designs Bhutan routes from the Thimphu desk and checks road times and monastery hours. Priya Nair covers culture, festivals, food, and family travel through the Kathmandu desk. Jonas Weber handles trek logistics, high camps, and event-season transport. Licensed Bhutanese guides lead all in-country days.
How Planning Works
- Consult. You share dates, group size, fitness, and interests by email. We reply within 2 business days with questions or a call time.
- Proposal. You receive a day-by-day route with hotels, drive times, altitudes, and a line-item price including the SDF of 100 dollars per person per night.
- Permits. On your approval we file visa clearance, assign the guide, and hold hotels and transport. Clearance usually issues in 5 to 7 working days.
- Briefing. One week before travel you receive meeting points, packing notes, and contact numbers for both desks plus your guide.
- In-trip support. During travel your guide manages daily timing and permits, with the Thimphu desk on call for changes and the Kathmandu desk covering regional flights.
What We Do Not Do
We do not sell bus-seat packages with fixed shopping stops. We do not promise festival seating we cannot hold. We do not run treks without checked crew loads and turn-back rules. If your dates fall on a sold-out festival week, we say so early and offer the nearest workable alternative.
Pricing Shape
Most couples in mid-range hotels spend 250 to 350 dollars per person per day for guiding, transport, and rooms, plus the SDF of 100 dollars per person per night and a 40 dollar visa fee. Treks with full crew run 280 to 400 dollars per person per day plus SDF. Every proposal lists these lines separately so you see where the money goes before you commit.
